My mom and I have been making these peanut butter kiss cookies for decades. We always make them a few days before Christmas. She makes the peanut butter mix on the stove and I press the “kisses” on the cookies. Now that my kids are old enough to help, they get involved.
The peanut butter mix sets fast so you have to work fast! Before we get started we usually have all the kisses unwrapped and all the wax paper laid out on the counter. They are so yummy!
Peanut Butter Kisses
1 (18oz) bag Hershey kisses, removed from wrapper
1 cup sugar
1 cup light Karo syrup
1 (16oz) jar crunchy peanut butter
4 cups Special K cereal, slightly crushed up into smaller pieces
Lay out several sheets of wax paper on the counter.
Stir together sugar and syrup in a medium saucepan. Let come to a good boil for 1 minute.
Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter no until blended.
Add cereal.
Drop by the spoonfuls on wax paper.
Press the kisses on the clusters while still warm so they will “stick.”
